If sore feet are making a shift, a walk to Central or a day in the studio harder, visit ModPod Podiatry in Sydney CBD. Our clinic is at Suite 506, 66 Hunter Street, Sydney NSW 2000, about 2.2 km from central Surry Hills. The walk usually takes 27–30 minutes
Surry Hills is full of people who move between cafes, venues, shops, studios and the city. You may stand on hard floors for hours, walk a long way between jobs, or spend the day in flat shoes that do not give your feet much support. Foot fatigue is common, but pain is worth checking.
We start by asking what your day looks like: the floors you stand on, the shoes you wear, your commute and the activities you want to keep doing. Then we examine your feet and lower limbs and make a plan that makes sense for you.
Pain under the heel can make the first steps of a morning shift hard. It can also build after long periods standing or walking. We check what is driving the pain and talk through treatment, footwear and changes that may reduce load on the heel.
Metatarsalgia can feel like burning, aching or a sharp spot beneath the forefoot. Thin-soled flats, long shifts and high step counts can all play a part. We assess the area, your shoes and how you walk, then explain the options.
A painful nail edge can make every step in a closed shoe unpleasant. If tight work shoes or repeated pressure are part of the problem, we can treat the nail and help you plan ways to lower the chance of it returning.
Orthotics may help if your feet need more support during standing, walking or exercise. They are not right for every problem. We assess your needs and the shoes you use before we recommend them.
From central Surry Hills or the Crown Street area, head north through the city towards Martin Place, then follow Hunter Street to Suite 506 at number 66. Allow 27–30 minutes for the 2.2 km walk. If foot pain makes that walk hard, public transport may be the better choice.
Walk to Central Station and take the M1 Metro northbound to Martin Place. The train trip is about three minutes. From Martin Place Metro, use the Hunter Street exit; the clinic is about a one-minute walk away.
You can also take the L1 light rail from Capitol Square to QVB, then walk through the CBD to Hunter Street.
Bring the shoes you wear for work or most days, and bring relevant scans if you have them. Your first visit takes 30–45 minutes. We can often begin care at that visit, where suitable, and you do not need a referral.
Standard consultations are $110–$145. If fungal nail laser treatment is part of your plan, the first treatment is $205 and later treatments are $160.
You may be heading back to Crown Street, Central or a shift after your visit. Before you leave, ask us which shoes to wear for that walk and whether you need padding, a change in lacing or a short-term change to your activity. We want you to leave with steps you can use that day, not just a diagnosis.
Lance Penn, Dr Tariq Khan and Will Zalloua provide care at the Sydney CBD clinic. We are open Monday and Tuesday from 8am–6pm, so an early or late weekday appointment may suit a work schedule.
