Why Manly Residents Choose
ModPod Dee Why
Our Dee Why clinic is at Suite 4103/834 Pittwater Road, Dee Why — a short trip from Manly via Pittwater Road. Bus routes 136 and 169 run directly between Manly and Dee Why if you prefer public transport.
The clinic is modern and purpose-built for podiatry. We use 3D laser scanning for orthotics (not plaster casts), digital video analysis for gait assessments, and Lunula cold laser for fungal nail treatment. Our podiatrists have treated more than 10,000 patients across our Sydney clinics.
Living in a beachside suburb like Manly means your feet work hard. Whether you’re running the Manly to Spit Bridge walk, surfing at Manly Beach, swimming at Shelly Beach, hiking North Head trails or mountain biking at Manly Dam — your feet take a beating. We understand the demands of an active coastal lifestyle and treat the injuries that come with it.
Custom Orthotics Manly
If you need orthotics, we use 3D laser scanning to capture an accurate image of your feet. This replaces old-fashioned plaster casts and gives us a precise digital model to design your orthotic from.
Orthotics can help with flat feet, high arches, heel pain, bunions and overuse injuries. We prescribe them for everyday shoes, work boots and sport-specific footwear.
Common reasons for orthotics:
– Flat feet or overpronation
– High arches
– Plantar fasciitis
– Bunions
– Metatarsalgia
– Knee or lower back pain linked to foot posture
Sports Podiatry
Manly’s outdoor lifestyle keeps people active, and active feet pick up injuries. We see runners with shin splints, surfers with plantar fasciitis, hikers with Achilles tendinopathy and weekend athletes with knee or hip pain linked to poor foot mechanics.
Our sports podiatry assessments include digital video analysis to study how you walk and run. We identify problems in your gait, foot posture and lower limb alignment, then build a treatment plan around your activity level and goals.
Common conditions we treat:
– Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
– Achilles tendinopathy
– Shin splints
– Knee and hip pain from foot mechanics
– Stress fractures
– Ankle instability
Children's Podiatry
Children’s feet develop quickly, and some problems are easier to correct early. We see kids for flat feet, in-toeing, toe walking, heel pain (Sever’s disease), growing pains and gait concerns.
Our podiatrists are experienced with children and make the appointment comfortable. We explain everything in plain language to both parents and kids.
Common children’s foot conditions:
– Flat feet
– In-toeing or out-toeing
– Toe walking
– Sever’s disease (heel pain in active kids)
– Growing pains
– Warts (verrucae)
Fungal Nail Laser Treatment
We treat fungal toenails with the Lunula cold laser — a painless treatment that takes about 12 minutes per session. Most patients need 4 sessions, and treatment starts the same day as your first appointment.
Our podiatrists diagnose fungal nails visually. An experienced podiatrist can identify a fungal nail infection on sight, which is more reliable than lab cultures. Lab testing takes weeks to return results and often produces false negatives, delaying treatment unnecessarily.
We have treated more than 10,000 patients with a 75–90% success rate.
What to expect:
– Visual diagnosis at your first visit — no waiting for lab results
– Treatment starts the same day
– Painless — no heat, no downtime
– About 12 minutes per session
– Typically 4 sessions to complete treatment
Ingrown Toenail Removal
Ingrown toenails are painful and can become infected if left untreated. We offer conservative treatment for mild cases and minor nail surgery for recurring or severe ingrown nails. Surgery is performed under local anaesthetic in the clinic — no hospital visit needed.
Common causes of ingrown toenails:
– Tight or narrow footwear
– Incorrect nail cutting
– Curved nail shape (genetic)
– Trauma to the toe
– Sweaty feet (common in Manly’s warm, humid summers)
